Not only was it shutdown, it now seems to be deleted (edit: no, it's still there, I just missed it last night - my bad...). Presumably this will go the same way, however...
About a year ago, maybe slightly more, ABU announced a new diaper called the "BMX diaper" (that it appears they no longer sell - I guess they pulled it under pressure) that had some really inappropriate associations. I was one of the people who blew the whistle about it (not on Wetset). I took a lot of flak for what I said at the time (although plenty agreed with me) but eventually nobody could ignore what was going on any more. The controversy surrounded two main events that came a couple of weeks apart:
Firstly, they initially used an image of a child wearing the diaper in their publicity photos. The photo was cropped down so much that the unsuspecting viewer couldn't really tell it was a kid but the original then came to light and a shitstorm went off. ABU pulled the image and said the reason they used it was because they didn't have the adult model photos yet. Eyebrows were raised but calm was restored.
Then a week or so later, it became apparent that there were two companies selling this new diaper. The other was extremely suspect. The name of the company matched the initials of somebody who is persona non-grata (name starts with D, that's all I'm saying) in the ABDL community for running a website with underage content. This second website selling the BMX diaper was full of dozens of photos of a child in suggestive poses wearing the diaper (including the one ABU had previously used and then pulled) with text about how much he loved his diapers, etc. The site was set up such that browsing the pictures was the focus and buying the diapers was an afterthought. There was never any concrete evidence of a link between the two companies but them both showing up with this new diaper at the same time tarnished ABU's reputation. I have no idea whether the pervert site is still up and have no intention of checking.
It's also worth pointing out that a few years prior, in a newsletter, ABU featured another website run by the same pervert suspected of running the one I just mentioned. At that time, they plead ignorance when the ABDL community cried foul and said they didn't know what 'that site' was really like.Last edited by xxxxx; July 23, 2012, 01:00 PM.
