What happened to this place it used to be so alive,I remember not to long ago when the photo board always had 3-4 new picture post every couple days and there was always a bunch of post every day on the message board.

I think the way photos are posted now is part of the problem. You get a bunch of thumbnails and have to click them one by one. Kinda ruins people's wanking, ya' know? -

Agree. It would be so helpful to at least have a "next" button to click rather than have to close and open each one. Not perfect but a partial solution.Comment

Suggestion
When people reply to posts, these posts come in again as if they are a new subject, but more often than not it is a post from sometime ago showing the same pictures again. I don't remember this happening on the old system, so perhaps some one at wetset could address this issue.
Like one of the other people said, there used to be loads of new pictures every day or so AND lots of video clips - but you hardly ever see a video clip now?

I think it's just the result of further refinement of the Porn Experience brought on by advances in computer and networking technology.
Way back forever ago (late '80s-early '90s) there was a lot of traffic in the various alt.sex.stories groups. Why? It's what people could do. Digital cameras didn't exist, and few people had scanners -- creating and sharing new images was not possible for most people. Remember, these were the days when (unless you were a photographer with your own darkroom), you couldn't even take a photo of your wife shitting on a plate, even if you had such a lovely lady at your disposal. You had to take your photos to the photo store to be developed and printed by someone else; sexually-explicit (let alone deviant) material was a non-starter.
Fast-forward a decade or so, and everyone is taking tons of digital photos of their naughty little hobbies, and life is good. The "golden age" of the WetSet forums, if you will. While they were still being written and enjoyed, the "sex story" was falling out of fashion, compared to its heyday. Photos did a better job of providing 'the wank' for most folks, and stories became more of a niche thing.
(I'd argue that sex stories lasted as a 'thing' to our sort of people far longer than they did in the general public, simply because of the relative dearth of other available material. "I like to watch girls poop!" is already an 'exotic' taste; if you refine it further to "but only in white cotton briefs, no thongs or diapers or what-have-you," at some point there's going to be very little pre-made material to enjoy. You've got to make your own; and since I'd imagine most of the adherents of this fetish are guys who aren't getting what they want in real life... story writing is pretty much the only option.)
Nowadays, it's all about video. While there's a lot to be said for a well-lit, well composed still photograph, there's a lot more to be said for a well produced video of same. I don't know about you, but I spend a lot more time 'watching' the pile of videos I've collected than I do 'looking' at the photos I have. Video is just one step closer to what I actually want, which is, you know, real-life.
Anyhow, I'd imagine for that reason that nearly all porn production today is done in the form of video, rather than still photography. But you can't attach or distribute videos within these forums, in the same way that you can with static images. And there's no really good way to share 'our sort' of videos, period. Can't post 'em on YouTube. The YouTube-like sites where they could be posted, we're apparently not supposed to talk about, what with all the copyright violation of WS-owned material and all. And the various "yousendit/megadownload/etc." sites all kinda suck for this sort of thing. Better'n nothing, mind you, but far from ideal.
Summary: I contend that there's plenty of new material being created out there, but nearly all of it is in a format that does not lend itself to "posting on the WS forums". Hence the tumbleweeds...Comment

Hate to sound like a broken record ... BUT ...

YES ... I DO remember when this place was active and there were different chats and stories being written and posted daily ... and I DO remember when the photo-boards were lively with people posting internet found pics and the photo elite amongst us were taking and making their own new pics!
When did that all slow down to the trickle we see now? From my perspective ... when the message-boards were all "fixed" and "improved".
It was/is a case of OVER-moderation and OVER-compensation! Instead of just deleting the spam posts from the old boards we went ahead and COMPLETELY changed the whole system around and confused the hell out of everyone and I think a lot of our frequent contributors got fed-up and walked away ... EXACTLY what happened at PeeSearch! Which is WHAT I SAID would happen!
All this change and improvement wasn't necessary in my opinion! All you needed was someone with the proverbial eraser to remove spam posts. Which, I offered my services to this site free of charge. I figured since I was on the site, ALL BOARDS, AT LEAST once a day that any junk posts I saw I could just delete ... no reply from anyone.
BUT ... here's the problem NOW ... since we've scared away a lot of our talent, to who knows where, there is no guarantee that even if the boards were reverted they would come back. Even WetSet really isn't WetSet anymore! This site went from being a mecca where these different fetishes and interests could coalesce and talk and share ideas, stories, and pictures to basically a huge internet ad.
So the sad reality is that this site will keep getting slower & slower until it just fades into internet oblivion. How many sites do we all know that have gone down that path ... from being a kickin' site to one that got kicked to the curb?
I REALLY hope I'm wrong because I've been coming to this site for MANY MANY years now (since the mid to late 90s) and I'd hate to see it go!Comment

I have a lot of sympathy with that viewpoint and you make a number of perfectly valid points. However a forum is, to some extent at any rate, what people make it. When it comes to not posting as often I probably should, I can plead "guilty as charged" but, in my case at any rate, it's not so much that I've lost interest as I've been desperately short of spare time just lately. I would imagine that I'm not the only member in that position either. I'm glad you guys feel the same way, I honestly think that if people weren't so up tight (girls especially) fetishes such as ours would thrive. I have met a few girls online into the same things but none of them are into making videos, if more people made videos and shared them for free while making videos that are being sold too, more people would be attracted and want more,for example Ineed2pee makes alot of preview compilations and there isn't any panty pooping sites that release video previews like that. If I had a chance to talk to someone who makes the movies I have a load of good ideas that I have ran past others I have met on other boards and they thought they were all great video concepts, if you happen to be one of those producers hit me up.

The new forum software is much better than the old one. I think it's just that other, more modern sites are outcompeting ws, like wetpantsboy, experienceproject etc. That's where the content is because that's where the tools to share it are.Comment
