Hey, Narada, I can totally sympathize with the feelings expressed in your “Rant.”
As you may remember, I too used to write stories. I no longer do so. Stories require at least a few days worth of creative dedication; it is quite a task to construct a well written story. And what do we get for it? Two or three comments if we’re lucky. Meanwhile, some dimwit with a shaky camera takes pictures of his 14-year-old sister pissing herself because she fell over the couch after raiding Mommy’s pharmacy cabinet, and the result is maybe 20 comments.
No wonder we’re frustrated.
What annoys me more deeply than anything else is the constant whining about how there are no women on the board and poor lonely guys can’t meet a girl who is into their fetish.
I have been around long enough to know that there really are women out there who think that these fetishes are rather sexy; I have been in contact with a few of them. But they would never bother to visit a site like this one. No heterosexual woman could possibly be attracted to or interested in those ridiculous youtubes of teenage girls. Women are all about relationship. That doesn’t mean we expect romance to blossom just because someone shares the same fetish; but we at least want some quality of what I call “relatedness.” Stories require mental engagement and the exercise of the imagination; and interesting characters really do create a sense of “relatedness.” If there were more stories and fewer youtubes on these bulletin boards, I could virtually guarantee that more women would be interested.
But instead of complaining, I should probably just take action. I would like to create a fetish site that focuses on stories and the sharing of real life experiences. No youtubes permitted. But of course I am terrified to ask anyone to create a fetish site for me! If I can find the time to take more classes at the local junior college, I might be able to learn how to create my own site with one of those WordPress templates. But would anyone be interested?
