  • Old Salon article

This was recently recycled on facebook, but I hadn't seen it so thought maybe others hadn't either. The author's hysterical over the top reaction to her accidents makes me think maybe she is seeking, rather than trying to avoid, attention. If it bothers her so much, why not buy some diapers and be done with it? Of course, ulcerative colitis is serious and debilitating, but still ...

Even though I don't agree with it, I do understand the logic behind the space when linking to youtube videos. The theory is that youtube somehow gets alerted to a large number of hits with wetset referrals, and thus will be more likely to remove the video.

Why in the world would one need to do the "space trick" for a link to Salon Magazine?

But did you read the article?

Did you like it? Was it really that hard to remove the space? If I hadn't put the space in, and was criticized by others for not including it, would you be standing up to defend me? But more to the point: What are your thoughts about the Salon article?

        In order of your questions:

        1. Not really, but I had no problem with you posting the article here.

        2. Not really, but the copy-open new window-paste-return routine is sort of annoying. I'm just wondering *why* you thought that hiding the referral was a good idea. Simple question.

        3. Definitely.

        4. I don't think she was going over-the-top for attention, but probably thought that going graphic would indicate how embarrassing this was for her or anybody with that issue. I sort of feel sorry for her and in an abstract way think that this scenario isn't that exciting, but if I were there and saw her loading her jeans I'd probably get a stiffy.
