I'm sure all of this goes without saying, but I still see people commenting about it or even asking why. Back in the years before the switch from black and green, streaming video was a far dream. We relished in the stories and posts that set our imaginations in motion. It was all we had and participation limited our loneliness in this subculture. It was enough to read a well written story to interest us and generate our conversations. Now, we live in an era of streaming video and not only are we desensitized, but we are lazy. Fewer and fewer people write because fewer and fewer people read and so fewer and fewer people write. It's a vicious cycle. I know it was never allowed but I've been coming to wetset since I was thirteen and I'm thirty now. I remember what it was to read the stories of Arthur Saxon and the like. And I remember what it was like the first time I watched Dirty Girls Down Under. Life changing shit..lol.
We can't ask for the way things were because they'll never be and we shouldn't expect that. Things change.
