If WetSet says they do not allow copyright material, this post should be looked at. This is copyright theft, if it was not written by the poster but taken from another site as the poster freely admits. I believe that this post should be removed.

I agree - it shouldn't be just movies (or links to movies) that get removed for copyright concerns.
If the truth be known it has nothing to do with copyright, more to do with lost revenue (or the fear of that) which causes links to be removed.

What on earth are you talking about? copyright only applies when a piece of intellectual property - essay, video, audio or whatever is taken verbatum and published somewhere else.
The OP in this case is not copying anything, but rather re-telling a story in his/her own words. Not even close to copyright infringement.
Edit: OK, on re-reading it sounds like the complaint was that the piece in question was taken from another website, not, as I first thought pirated from the Jay Leno show. That puts a different light on it, but still since it came (presumably) from a message-board type forum rather from a copyrighted source it shouldn't be a problem.*
*Just my opinion, certainly not speaking for Wetset.

IMHO everybody gets too up in arms over all this copyright bullshit.
If you put it on the internet it might as well be public property. People are going to take it and do what they will with it.
Governments and institutions will spend billions of dollars trying to combat online piracy to no avail... for every piece they take down another ten will pop up.

Agreed.
Also, unless a post bothers you or poses a real problem for WetSet (and come on, this is nothing... not even any money involved), why not let the mods take care of the rules? So many threads here lately have gone way off topic because of strange accusations. If you want to discuss copyright, I think a better place would be a different thread (or even a different forum).
Now even the contents (which were indeed quite amusing) were removed by OP due to some nitpicker.
Also to OP: Usually, if you give a link to the original post, reposting is simply accepted.
