Okay, so what do people think about thisvid.com?
It has tons of great content. Lots of real accidental wetting videos (which are my favorite), and other types of noncommercial videos which often do not survive for very long on YouTube.
But it is structured as a social network sort of thing. A substantial majority of the videos are private, which means that if you want to view them, you have to ask the user to add you as a friend.
And that makes things just a little weird. I do not have any serious concerns about privacy. Joining the site does not require verification with a cell phone, or a credit card, or anything else. There is no reason you cannot use a fictitious name and an e-mail address that is not associated with anything else.
But many users will not add you as a friend unless you have also contributed content, i.e., uploaded some videos. And some users will only add you as a friend if you have contributed content that they like. And some will not add you if you have uploaded anything that they do not like.
That, in my view, is a little ridiculous. But nevertheless, once I joined and uploaded a few wetting videos, I had no trouble getting most people to add me as a friend if I wanted to view their videos. The vast majority of the videos posted on the site are not videos of the user who posted them. They may or may not be vids that the user actually recorded on their phone. Most are not. They are videos that they found somewhere, saved to their computer, and now they are sharing them.
Yes, that raises questions about copyright. But the site administrators seem to be doing a very good job of very quickly removing content that is stolen from commercial sites, and also removing noncommercial videos at the request of the copyright holder or at the request of someone who appears in the video and does not want it posted.
The site is free. You do have to put up with ads before almost every video. But after five seconds or so, you can skip the ad. It's not that different from YouTube. The big difference is that it is built to allow x-rated content.
I would love to hear opinions from others who have joined this site.
