I have been here since about 2000. There were always considerably more men, but this should not be taken as evidence that "the fetish" is predominantly male. To the contrary, I would cite Havelock Ellis' original essay on this fetish ("Undinism"), the work of Patches and her colleagues, that marvelous bit from Nancy Friday's book "Men in Love" in which a woman (a nurse) initiates the man into the gentle arts of wetting (though Friday herself is painfully ignorant of the real nature or motivation of this fetis), and, from the board here, any number of perfectly credible accounts from men whose partners participate with them in this fetish.
So what drove all the women away? Having communicated with many of them by e-mail, I would cite two main factors:
1) The increasing dominance of youtube links on the board. Heterosexual women are not interested in videos of teenage girls having accidents. Women are relationship oriented and like to exchange stories and real events including real feelings with other human beings. Youtube bored us right out of the water closet and back into our own fantasies.
2) The tendency of some churls (usually youtube freaks) who accuse EVERY woman of being a man in disguise. I admit: Anyone who begins a story by claiming to be a 19-year-old teenager with impossibly large breasts and an impossibly petite body is probably a man -- and when have you ever actually met a woman who introduces herself by reciting her measurements rather than talking about her life and opinions? But many women -- ordinary people, often over 40, not claiming to be great beauties but simply interested in the fetish -- were treated with supreme disrespect, accused and insulted until they ran away. Sometimes I don't even know why the hell I am still here.

Maria, I wonder if we could solve this problem partly by being more aggressive about banning members who insist on harassing people claiming to be women? I think everyone here would like to have a more balanced sexual makeup on this board, and the vast majority are pretty reasonable about evaluating the sex of people who are writing (i.e., if you're 19 and have ridiculous measurements, you're probably not, but it's obvious enough that there's not really a need to point it out anyway).
If this place were moderated with the desirability of a balanced makeup of contributors in mind, do you think that would help things?Comment

Maria's cogent comments offer a valuable insight, not only into why distaff participation has fallen dramatically over the years, but also into why, sadly, fewer and fewer people, especially women, contribute substantively to the board. I for one can attest from personal experience that plenty of women enjoy wetting their pants or panties, and agree with her that Ellis nailed this when he published his works on the subject.
Anyone interested in our kink can find YouTube clips that show watersports themes. Unfortunately, the majority of these aren't of an erotic nature. Instead, the non-erotic ones are on YouTube because someone thinks it's humorous to humiliate a friend or because someone has filmed gal "pop a squat" in public.
WetSet created the aptly entitled "Watersports Message Board" as a forum where people who were sexually aroused by wetting and watersports could share experiences that had aroused them. This went hand-in-hand with their excellent magazine.
The same can be said of the original Patches Place, which was devoted to the sexual pleasure women derived from wetting their pants and the vicarious pleasure many of us men get from hearing them talk about it or watching them do it.
There was no YouTube or Facebook in those days, so contributors were more inclined to write about things they'd seen or done and had to be creative when they wrote fantasized events.
Thankfully, we still have the Photoboard where contributors continue to titillate us with photos of wettings in various settings. It's particularly appealing to me when someone like Stevi posts photos of intentional wettings that appeal to their own individual eroticism and to the viewers' desires, notwithstanding that these photos might not appeal to heterosexual women.Comment

@kochel428. It would certainly be a breath of fresh air and a cosmic relief if some of the trolls were prevented from harassing the women.
The harassment usually takes the form of saying, "Hey, you, prove to us that you're a woman." Of course the only form of proof they will accept is giving them your phone number, a pathetic ploy that even the world's dumbest slut wouldn't fall for.
I don't know if the situation has deteriorated so much that women feel they are unsafe here. There was a time when Internet numbers appeared with our posts, and some women were actually tracked down to their approximate locations, which terrified them. And then there was the couple who posted occasional pics of the wife in wet pants, but they used their real names and locations, and one troll actually tracked her to her workplace and confronted her there!
Needless to say, that particular couple has now disappeared.
I wonder what it would take in terms of moderation to insure that things like this don't happen. Of course registration made it unnecessary for the numbers to appear and reveal our locations, so that is taken care of, but the couple who were confronted had their experience AFTER it became a registration board, and I don't know if a free board like this could muster the necessary amount of moderation to prevent the creepsters from demanding our phone numbers.Comment

How does one get "tracked down to their approximate location" anyway? If someone wanted to track me down, wouldn't they need to know my "exact location"?and some women were actually tracked down to their approximate locations, which terrified them.

The results , though just current ones , since this poll is still on going and the results could change over time . Still is interesting to look at . Plus that not every one has taken it. Though most of us here have . I was surprised about the difference between those who enjoy Nude Female Peeing
over that of Female Desperation wetting in clothing . Surprised me . In that there are more interested in that form than that of Nude peeing . Which I thoroughly enjoy , myself , though I do get off on the female wetting too .
