  • Diuretics

Doc put me on Bumetanide. Talk about accidents! There is NO WAY to stop the pee from flowing. Any one else familiar with this or other diuretics? I need to put a hole in my shoes to let the pee out.

I've had to take diuretics a couple times for minor issues (like side effects from other drugs). Yes, they increase the amount you pee, but they never caused urgency in me. Are you saying this drug actually makes you pee your pants?

I have to agree with , Peevert . I have to take Duretics too . though I don't pee my pants , either . Unless i want to ! !
You might have other medical issues you need to check into . Unless you weren't being serious .

I was on a diuretic when first diagnosed with hypertension back in 2001. My doc at the time was "old school."

It didn't make me go more often at all. But, I did seem to pee a much larger volume when I did pee.

In 2003, I switched to a younger doc who was more "with it." He took me off the diuretic and the ancient beta blocker, Inderal, that I was on.

I'm now on a much better beta blocker and an ace inhibitor. No probs.

The original poster made it sound like he has a drug that makes you pee your pants. Maybe for him, it works that way. But I doubt that this is common.

            Yes, but...

All diuretics are moderately dangerous; the safest one is water.

Powerful diuretics are only given in hospital when the patient can be monitored, and there's a reason for that - but the most powerful I know of does indeed give a frightening amount of peeing... But not actual incontinence, unless there were mild-to-moderate bladder control issues beforehand

There are drugs that make the bladder 'jumpy' and selectively affect the smooth muscles of the 'involuntary' sphincter, but I'm not naming them. Very effective *indeed* where there's 'shy bladder', and contraindicated where there's any hint of obstruction to the urethra... And best administered with an opioid gut-motility inhibitor, as there are effects on the muscles of the bowel, too.

Seriously, don't. Water's effective - so any herbs and spices that make you thirsty will work (not salt!) ; caffeine to irritate the bladder; and alcohol to relax the muscles and the inhibitions. That's all you should use, ever.

I was not going to weigh in on this discussion but I feel the last comment by Betanumeric needs to be emphasized. Diuretics are dangerous unless prescribed by a doctor and monitored.

That said, I did make available to my models when I was shooting video scenes 20 mg tablets of Furosemide (Lasix) and only if they wanted to use it. Since taking only one tablet before a video shoot was not any sort of continual use, it would not be harmful. I did advise the girls that they should be using a multivitamin also to replace vitamins and minerals that would be flushed from their systems. I also stressed that using Furosemide was completely optional and they were under no pressure to use it.

Some girls opted to use it so they could do scenes more quickly. Others decided to just use water or ice tea drinks to fill their bladders quickly. A couple of girls who did use it reported that it made their stomachs upset and did not use it again.

Furosemide is a moderately strong diuretic. It is stronger than water pills you can get over the counter so it is a prescription medication. It is not as strong as Bumetanide which toejamer is taking. Whichever medication is taken, the bladder's reaction to it depends on the dosage.

Because of the potential dangers of taking a diuretic, it should never be given to a person without their knowledge in order to make them pee. A person should only take a diuretic with "informed consent" so they know the potential risks and can decide if they want to use it. It should never be used on a regular basis without a doctor's supervision.

                Dangers of diuretics

A relative of mine ended up in hospital as a side-effect of prescribed diuretics for oedema (water retention and swelling), so I would echo the warnings. Her medication was changed at an outpatient visit but she then suffered the side effects of dizziness and tiredness, probably caused by low blood pressure and collapsed. The hospital sorted out the drugs and stablised her after a few days.

One of the main dangers with diuretics is that they flush salts out of your system and blood, and change the sodium and potassium balance. Vitamins are much less of an issue. This is potentially serious if taken to excess: too little sodium and you can die (from brain swelling), too much potassium and you can die (your heart stops). There are other potential, indiect, side-effects too. A model in the UK passed out at the wheel of her car driving along a motorway after losing too much sodium in a peeing shoot (whether from diuretics or just too much water, I don't know). Luckily she survived, but that took a LOT of explaining to the police by both the model and the photographer...

So, all in all, I would stick to water, tea, coffee and alcohol as suggested by others. I had to deal with the unused diuretcics when the relative was in hospital: I took them to a chemist (pharmacy) for safe disposal!

Too much water can be bad for you too, as it dilutes the salts in your blood.

The best diuretics I've found for producing a lot of urine over a short period are cranberry juice and dandelion root tablets. The former available at any grocery store, the latter available in many vitamin sections or even online for cheap.

I can concur with what , Delta Foxtrot , says about cranberry juice . As it does help you pee very much . Plus helps clear the kidneys of toxins that might hamper the kidney's function in filtering . Though also any fruit juices are also good for enjoy a pee . Plus the vitamins in the fruit juice also help keep your whole body Healthy ! !
No one wishes to be sick in bed . When there's a nice day out to enjoy some Naughty peeing some where

                          Diuretics

Prescription diuretics although dangerous are something I have to admit to having played around with in the past, and boy do they make you wee bucket loads LOL

A couple of years ago my mum was put on Furosemide by her GP to treat water retention and high blood pressure

For years prior to this I d always enjoyed holding my pee and playing around with desperation, and so I was intrigued to find out if these things really worked, and what the overall effect would be. The only way I was going to find out was by taking the bull by the horns so to speak and trying them out

I remember the first time I took one of those pills I didn’t really know quite what to expect and wondered a) how long they would take to work, and b) would they do anything to increase the level of desperation.

                          Believe me they do both!

Within an hour of taking the pill and drinking a couple of pints of water I began to feel the need to have a wee.

Usually when I first feel the need to pee it’s pretty easy for me to hold it in for a while with minimal amount of effort often clenching the muscles surrounding my pelvic floor for a few seconds will usually be enough to make the urge disappear and allow me to relax and ignore it.

Typically during these early stages of filling the contractions or spasms tend to be several minutes apart and cause a minimal amount of discomfort

                          Today however was totally different

Within half an hour of first feeling the first urge to go I was finding really difficult to ignore the urge. Half an hour later and I was literally bursting to pee and having to really concentrate on holding my sphincter shut in order to keep from leaking

I couldn’t believe the amount of physical effort it was it was taking to hold it in.

As soon as I tried to relax even for a few seconds I could feel the pee pressing hard right up against the edge of my pee hole, convincing me any second now I was about to start wetting my knickers.

So if you really do want to have an accident my suggestion would be to take one of those pills drink a couple of pints of water and then head out somewhere where you know there is no chance of being able to access a loo. I guarantee you will end up with wet knickers…..
