Hi all

A good selection of web finds for you to check out are below, with a request to help me download some of the Vine videos, if anyone can help. Twitter has sadly made a change which seems to prevent hyperlinking to the original size image, so we can only see the smaller version with all the captions etc. If anyone knows a way around this then please let me know.

Aloo, if you use firefox, click on the three bars on the upper right of the screen, select add ons and download flash player downloader (type it in the search box) With that you can download just about anything! That oughta help you with the vine videos. I don't know anything about twitter though. Sorry.

I'm also having trouble with vine videos, they just don't play? Is it something to do with flash player? I think it's up to date but I don't like updating it because I keep getting text add pop up things when I do. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. thanks.

Vine itself is an app for iOS, Android, or Windows phone and the videos can generally only be seen if you have the app on your phone. If you don't have/want the app, you can search and view using a desktop viewer, of which there are many such as vinebox.

Aloo, what do you have to do to view the vine videos?

The Vine videos are usually MP4 videos in a HTML5 video tag.
In Windows, you should be able to play them using any decent browser (Firefox, Chrome, probably Opera as well). In Linux, I know for sure they work with Firefox (maybe you need GStreamer) and Chromium.

If they don't work, I would just download them and play them in a video player.
