Old pictures from Shara & Ger's?

Perhaps Ger could apply the same ingenuity to offering his archive for sale; he has associated himself with Skymouse who has no problem charging for content, so he could get help there, or he could go through Wet set who used to sell CD's and magazines and distribute them world wide. So why not put his pictures on CD or DVD and sell them to anyone who wants to complete his collection.
I do not have a problem with him charging for this, does anyone??
Comes to that, there is a lot of early stuff relating to our interest that has gone and some might want to see again. For instance: Giga pictures, Project Pee Photo sets, Thomas and Patches stories.. and others that I have missed. Maxie did consider doing some of this, (I discussed setting up a Giga archive with him, but it came to nothing) I think he fell foul of credit cards classing his content as Pornography.

I appreciate de female desperation site. I visit often because there's some good content and it's for free. However, the site aggregates content from other people found all over the net. Before that used to be places like photobucket and such, now more twitter and the likes. The people who posted these pics originally are the only ones who would logically be able to ask money for them. Not anyone else... Doing so would just be wrong

Whether you pay for content or not is up o you, and I have no objection to your principles. But.. we live in a capitalist world, and if somebody is willing to pay for a service, then who is to objet if somebody else provides that service and makes a charge? I do not like paying for anything, but if I want something badly enough, and the only way to get it is to pay, then pay I might. (I paid Maxie so I could get the Giga Desperation Contest Videos, and then spend lots of time on line getting everything else he had on offer, just so i got my money's worth.) Since nobody has set up an archive of FD, nor seems to be rushing to do it, I only suggest that the thought of some money might be encouragement to do so. Nobody has to pay, and I hope that Ger will not think of charging for his site.

N.B. For anybody that wants pictures of desperate women, for free, try searching for images with Bing, using something like "Women needing to pee" Turn the wretched Safe Search off and see what you get, and then use the suggested searches from the sidebar. I have been amazed at what turns up, far more than Google, but this will not link you to Gers pictures. It is better than nothing and free, unless you go over your download limit like it did. Incidentally, searching for Giga does not bring up any of the old pictures, but you can't get everything.

You're not getting me. I don't agree with this capitalist world we're living in, but that's not the point. I don't mind people charging for things, and I don't mind people paying for things. But I do mind people charging for things that aren't theirs to begin with. Ger didn't take those pictures. The people in those pictures don't even know they're on his site. Him showing them on his site is already rather shady (but I do appreciate him doing so). Him selling them would be criminal...

To save readers wasting their time, Shara's and Ger's does not display the image if you type the address straight into the address bar, you still get re-directed to the landing page.

No, they don't. The one that they use does.

The add-ons you can add to browsers like Firefox to spoof referrers don't work either, probably for similar reasons.

I don't know about server-side redirections though, as I (by default) block both referrers (which is the reason for my hate on broken hotlink protection :P ) and cookies, so I've never had a cookie from that website.

Which is why it isn't just hotlink protection, the point I was making.

They work fine for me... I don't know about server-side redirections though, as I (by default) block both referrers (which is the reason for my hate on broken hotlink protection :P ) and cookies, so I've never had a cookie from that website.

That's probably the additional trick needed to get the images, then, as they don't for me and I allow cookies on sites that I have as Favorites / Bookmarks.

Nor have we heard any thing from Ger, who should be interested in comments on his site.
My suggestion for charging for back content was to compensate Ger for his trouble in making and dispatching a DVD. Would Overunder be prepared to pay? or is he only interested in free content.
Would it be too much trouble for Ger to zip up blocks of 1000 pictures and post them on his site? perhaps with a password that you only get by paying or by sending Ger some new content?

Before we have to start a similar thread about another site, I suggest that anyone interested track down inactive sites on Peeing and get all the content while they can. For example; last time I looked Cascade Magazine site was still accessible but not being updated, and you could still get all the Nicola Steele stories for free. (she has posted on Ger's lately, but not old stories,)
Nothing last for ever and it is up to individuals to grab what they can while it is there, not to expect others to do it for them and then pass on what they have.

I've been following, but I didn't really have an technical analysis to add. I'm not really good with computers so I couldn't figure out what Drying was referencing.

No, I wouldn't be willing to pay. Just not worth it for me personally. If I really wanted a data store I would "host" these pictures on my own computer by saving each picture individually when it was posted. My guess would be that Ger gets something out of hosting the available picture pages via advertising for the WHP pay services. If that's the case - and I'm of the opinion that the non-professional pictures, i.e. the ones from twitter, are much hotter than the samples of the professional stuff - then I don't see how him throwing a zip file up would be a lot to ask. Just my personal feeling. it has to do with the realness of it I guess. So I don't see why hosting a zip file of 1000 or so older pics at a time would be too hard, but if Ger didn't do it I wouldn't be mad/disappointed.

Also I'm flattered that you would imply that this entire thread has been for me alone haha :P
