Just thought of something, what will happen to porn if we have a militant feminist president? I mean, she can't do anything about the internet, but will she try to go after postal service porn like the feds did with Max Hardcore? What do you pervs think?

What will happen to porn?
Probably nothing.
First, modern day feminism isn't anti-porn. They are for women having the right to choose what to do with their bodies, including the right to be in porn. Most modern day feminists I know consider themselves sex and kink positive.
Also, porn is protected by free speech. Trying to imagine a left wing politician publicly going after free speech is like imagining a right wing politician being pro gun control.
Historically, going after smut/porn has been a right wing caused pushed by social conservatives in the name of family values. The left has never catered to social conservatives in this way, so a left wing politician really wouldn't stand to gain anything by going after porn.
Finally, I think that across the political spectrum there has been a move towards protecting individual freedoms, including the freedom to view porn. I think it would be very hard for any candidate to attract any kind of widespread support for a porn crackdown, except among the most extreme religious groups.

TVGuy, thanks for your thoughtful reply, but it was of course unwarranted. This is just Peevert expressing his anti-feminist bullshit again. And again I wonder, even if you believe this horrible crap, why would you post it on a fetish forum where you risk alienating the few women who come here?
Peevert, please stop. Mods, please just delete this thread.

Cool It!
I am getting requests to delete this thread but I am a free speech advocate and everyone is entitled to their opinion plus a lively discussion (as long as it stays on topic and is relevant to the subject matter of this forum). Let's not let our personal opinions devolve into personal attacks or insults or else posts will be deleted but not the thread. Enough said!

Additionally, I think posts that might drive away women should be deleted. I would feel the same way about a post trying to "out" some user as not female, for instance. I'm all for free speech, but not here. Forums that have aggressive moderation are generally better in almost every respect - better discourse, friendlier atmosphere, more on-topic posts, etc.
Again: I am all for your right to have wrongheaded beliefs, and to perform wrongheaded speech. I would literally defend that right to the death if need be. But if we allow political discussions on this forum it will do nothing but drive people away.
Patches, if you won't delete the thread for goodness sake please move it to the "questions" or "what's on" board.
