Twitter video playback problems?

This feels like a naive question, but I have not experienced this problem before.

The twitter page loads, but I get a message that says "This browser does not support video playback."

I know what the words mean, but I don't get it. And I get the same message in Firefox and Internet Explorer. WTF.

Anyone else experiencing this?

My environment: Win 7 Pro, Firefox 39.0, IE 11

What video platform is twitter using? Is this an issue with my Flash player??
