  • Your connection isn’t secure

    To Patches or whomever maintains this site, the last few days I’ve received the following when trying to logon onto WetSet. I obviously have a workaround, but still you might want to look into the issue. thanks

    Your connection isn't secure

    This site uses an outdated security configuration that might expose your personal information when it's sent to this site (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

    NET::ERR_SSL_OBSOLETE_VERSION

    To add to this technically, what browsers are complaining about is that your site uses weak encryption for SSL with 128-bit RSA/AES key and TLS 1.0. Current recommendations are to support at least TLS 1.2 (ideally the new 1.3 as well) and use a 2048-bit RSA key or 256-bit ECDSA key. You could do with bringing your SSL up to date by a decade!

        We are aware of this issue and we're working on it. The server needs an OS upgrade to rectify the problem, but an OS upgrade leads to further problems - especially the ability of the shopping cart and forum to operate properly.

        So fixing this is not something we can easily do by just flicking a switch. But rest assured we are aware of it and are working on it.

          I've emailed wetset using the web contact form with a short term workaround for the TLS issue that doesnt require upgrading the actual servers which might work. Hopefully he got the email and has someone who can try to implement it.

          The wetting wonderland site has a similar issue.. only in that case the lack of any ssl/tls at all is the issue there - in that search engines have been de-priorotizing or dropping entirely non https sites from search results.

          Also seems to be an issue with the shopping cart but that could be my privacy settings in firefox but not sure.

          PPS: it appears ozbills 404 default page redirects to a mentaza media not available in your country page too LOL (it isnt blocked its just their 404 page rofl!)

              The issue should be resolved before the end of September one way or another. It may mean that the Wet Set website as well as this forum may be offline for a period of time. There is a lot of code on wetset.net that needs to be changed and we are working with a deadline of September 30 to move to a new updated server.

                That's great news, Patches. Tell Paul I said, "Good luck and may the force be with you!"

                  I just got an update from Paul and there is now a high probability that Wet Set will go offline on September 30. However, the good news is that Paul has optimistic hope that Wet Set will be back online sometime during October.
