Why do some guys become aroused if they think about a girl wetting herself? Is there evidence that women find men who wet their pants erotic? Any women? Or is it just men who like this?

The following is not intended to be the 'absolute truth' or anything, it's just my opinion. Anyways, here goes...

It may be that people are conditioned to get aroused by wetting. Generally spoken, people are capable of becoming aroused when confronted with sexual stimuli. At some point during their lives, they may be faced by both 'wetting' and 'a sexual stimulus' to which they responde with arousal. If this happens repeatedly, an associative link may be formed between 'wetting' and 'arousal'. To the point where the original sexual stimulus is no longer required to achieve arousal; 'wetting' will serve this purpose as a stimulus just fine by itself.

I am uncertain whether or not this has any genetic origins. It could well be that an associative link can only be triggered if it was already somehow inborn. It could also be that this is not so; in which case any person should have the capability to create such a link. Although I think both men and women have the ability to form such an associative relation, it appears mainly men do this. Why this is I do not know.

I wonder whether or not anyone recognizes themselves in this description.

Although I've known a few women who get excited by guys wetting their pants, I think the fascination with wetting by the opposite sex is more common in men. I also think it's pretty common in women who are bisexual or homosexual.

With respect to why, obviously, there is a fundamental connection between genitalia and peeing in mammals. Moreover, urine is connected with sexual rituals in a number of species. How it develops into a powerful sexual fantasy in some humans remains a mystery at least to someone like me, who is not trained in psychology.

I can say that I've been fascinated since early childhood--well before I knew anything about sex. It didn't matter then me whether the wetter was a boy or girl. What drew my attention, I really cannot say. Maybe it was because you weren't supposed to pee your pants or because kids who did were usually punished. I don't recall ever wetting my pants in public as a kid, but I did it in pivate once in a while.

As I became sexually aware, I began to experiment with wetting as an erotic stimulus, and to think or read about girls and women wetting their pants always gave me an erection. As a virgin, all my erotic dreams involved girls peeing their pants.

As an adult, my fascination has only grown, and I continued to dream about this even while being involved with a series of women who wet their pants to indulge my fantasies or their own. I still dream about it to this day despite being happily married to a woman who pees her pants for pleasure and to please me.

Thanks for your contribution. I don't intend to sound disparaging, but I don't really agree with that.

Firstly I don't see remotely how facts support the idea - or really what you mean by the idea - that people are "conditioned" to be aroused by wetting. If that were true, we wouldn't be such a niche culture. If humans were conditioned to be aroused by it, then it would be a widespread, very publicly known and accepted turn on. Very essentially, it wouldn't be a "fetish".

The idea of an associative link in the brain is more realistic in my opinion, but how to apply it to the different and seemingly unrelated aspects of the watersports sub-culture? Being turned on by either peeing or seeing someone else pee is plausibly explained by a link between the part of the brain responsible for sexual arousal and the part responsible for bladder control and sensing. But how does that explain being turned on by a girl unintentionally peeing in her pants/panties, a.k.a. "having an accident"? Here I am speaking from experience, and the evidence I use to support this finding is not only what turns me on, but what doesn't turn me on.

If a girl has to pee really really badly and starts to lose bladder control, but she isn't wearing any pants/panties, that doesn't really turn me on as much as if she is. Hardly at all, really. For me, that particular situation doesn't arise very often (outside of S&M, which I'm not into). That, however, raises an interesting point about the experiential nature of sexual arousal and fetishism. Indeed one of the more plausible explanations for that is, as you pointed out, links between the sexual arousal areas of the brain and those experiences. Those experiences are now connected with the sexual arousal areas -> your brain picks out details from that memory: often times it's visual since we're such visually-centric creatures, therefore we pull out visual details: Was the girl wearing clothes? If so, what kind? Size and shape of the girl (or guy if that's the gender responsible for arousal)? Where was she(he)/where were you? In a car? On a plane? At camp? Each of these details begins to serve as a focal point or trigger for that sexual experience, and we start so seek out those details in future encounters.

I'm rambling I think and can't focus so well now, but maybe I'll come back to this and share more of my thoughts.

That's alright, we're just here to discuss and I find it interesting to exchange thoughts.

You make a good point regarding the idea that people are conditioned to be aroused by wetting in saying that if this were true, we wouldn't be as exclusive as the group that we are. However, it is not per se said that everyone, or even most people, wind up forming this associative relation. Either they don't form any links of the sort (and thus have no 'fetish') or they have links to a different kind of thing/situation/etc. The latter would explain the rich variety of fetishes in existance. And because there are so many, every one group individually is a minority. Which is in line with the facts perfectly.

But yeah... this whole thing I summed up is just merely a theory. It may be correct or not, because the actual cause for this... is sadly unknown. It could well be that there are different causes that lead to the same results, so any one explanation would work for some people, but not everyone. I'm looking forward to hear your, and anyone's, thoughts concerning this.

Ah, but that was my point exactly! When I originally responded to your post I was addressing the fact that you said "people are conditioned to get aroused by wetting" and I guess I assumed you meant all people, not just people with this fetish, which is why I said I didn't agree with you on that. I certainly agree that not everyone or even most people will develop this fetish. That fits well with the theory that it has to do with a link between experiential memories (of which everyone has highly varied ones) and sexual response areas of the brain.

Although interesting to note is that I personally knew I liked this kind of thing before I was even in puberty. I remember one time playing with a girl a year or two younger than I when I was 10 or 11. We were hanging out on a tree and she said she wanted to go back to her house to pee, but I persuaded her to stay and keep playing because the idea that she had to pee was making me feel really warm and pleasant in a general way. Eventually she ended up sort of peeing her pants like halfway and I kept on wanting to just stay and look at/feel it, even though I wasn't old enough to be specifically sexually aroused by it. So there's probably some sort of genetic predisposition to whatever details make up a pee accident.

If I had to guess I would say it has partly to do with control (the fact that humans must pee but we place social restrictions on where you can do it) or lack thereof, the fact that it all starts in a sexual place, the fact that your brain probably knows that pee isn't that likely to make you sick whereas feces will so it doesn't seem as gross, etc. The human brain is an amazingly complex thing.

            Cheerio

I don't think anyone can really answer exactly why certain things turn people on. My best guess is that is has to do with the "naughty" nature of wetting and how very private it is.

As for the difference between men and women, I believe far more men like seeing women wet than vice versa.

My impression is that a lot of sexual motivation seems to be about things that would normally be considered embarrassing/dirty/disgusting/even painful, that suddenly flip over into highly desirable stimuli as we get turned on. For example:

                1) The disgusting idea of getting another person's tongue in your mouth, or putting yours in someone else's!

                2) The embarrassment at getting undressed with someone else.

                3) The even more disgusting idea of licking someone else's genitals.

                4) The disgusting and embarrassing idea of peeing yourself or the bed.

                5) Letting someone press their nails into your back - maybe drawing blood - as you make love!

Looked at from that perspective, wet fun seems to follow the pattern of the rest of sexual activity!

I think everyone has some great points, and I think they are all correct to some degree. There have to be numerous ways to develop this fetish (and any other fetish). Our brains are amazing things, but we are all different people. There are variations even within out fetish (people who like wetting on purpose vs. people who like desperation accidents). But I would agree that it goes back to our childhood and maybe even puberty.

Certain things stick with us and I think those certain things can develop who we become. For example, I know numerous people wet themselves around me when I was younger, but I can only remember one specifically. It was a girl who wet herself in kindergarten - I remember it to this day.

I'd be very interested to see if any studies have been done about the development of fetishes (particularly of our fetish). But I think there are numerous reasons as to "why" we like what we like.
